Summary:
This is a full-time, salaried position covered by the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award. The role operates on a standard 38-hour working week, typically worked across five 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
The role will initially operate on a day shift (approximately 10:00am–6:00pm) during training, with the expectation that it may transition to an afternoon shift (approximately 2:00pm–10:00pm) as production volumes increase, subject to business requirements and reasonable notice.
The salary for this role is provided under an annualised wage arrangement in accordance with the Award. The annual salary is intended to ensure the employee is better off overall and to compensate for all Award entitlements associated with the role, including applicable shift penalties, based on the expected working pattern. No routine overtime is expected or required as part of this role
The Production Operator is responsible for operating extrusion, milling, drying, and warehouse equipment as part of a small team. The role requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations. The operator must ensure all cleaning procedures meet industry and company standards, maintaining a hygienic production environment.
Teamwork and collaboration are essential for maintaining efficiency, ensuring smooth production flow, and achieving high-quality output. Operators must work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure operational goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment according to specifications and production requirements.
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of production equipment and work areas to meet food manufacturing standards.
- Maintain accurate records of batch activities, sanitation processes, and other quality documentation.
- Conduct in-process checks to ensure product consistency and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating with team members and supporting colleagues as needed.
Food Safety Program & Management System
- Maintain HACCP requirements and comply with all food safety and regulatory standards.
- Follow and enforce Harvest B’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a hygienic and safe production environment.
- Ensure food products meet quality and safety standards, including proper identification and traceability.
- Complete and review relevant food safety and cleaning records.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation standards across all production areas.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain food safety protocols and address any issues proactively.
