We’re now looking for an Account Director who excels at building trusted client partnerships, delivering high-impact campaigns, and bringing fresh, creative thinking to the table to join and lead our Sydney team and grow our presence in this market.
The Opportunity: Account Director
As an Account Director at Tide Communications, you’ll be the strategic engine behind some of our biggest client relationships. You’ll lead day-to-day client partnerships with confidence, guide teams to deliver smart and creative work, and find opportunities for campaigns to grow and evolve.

Key Role Responsibilities
1. Client Service & Account Leadership (The Foundation)
You’ll own several of Tide’s major accounts and ensure every campaign hits the mark and beyond. You will:
- Lead and deliver creative, strategic campaigns aligned to client goals.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal Hardie Grant Media team members.
- Provide proactive thinking, clear communication, and compelling reporting.
- Guide project and account teams with clear direction and accountability.
- Drive organic growth through new ideas, proactive solutions, and smart proposals.
- Maintain strong account profitability and oversee planning and cost management.
- Anticipate issues early and resolve challenges quickly to protect quality and satisfaction.
- Lead the development of clear strategic platforms and brave creative ideas that push our clients – and the work – forward.
- Confidently facilitate workshops, strategy sessions and client presentations.
2. Business Development (The Growth Driver)
You’ll help expand Tide’s client portfolio and grow existing relationships. You will:
- Meet KPIs related to new business and organic growth.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Lead pitch strategies, proposals, and presentations with confidence.
- Strengthen new business processes and support junior staff in developing commercial skills.
- Represent Tide at industry events and build your network.
3. Business Operations & Commercial Performance (The Support Layer)
As an experienced account lead, you’ll contribute to efficient, commercially strong operations. You will:
- Work closely with senior colleagues to ensure efficient resourcing and strong margins.
- Identify growth areas and processes within Tide to excel our business and reputation in the Sydney market
- Strengthen your commercial understanding of agency financials.
- Contribute to forecasting, capacity planning, and workflow improvements.
- Play a key role in shaping Tide’s Sydney hub – from local culture and processes to helping grow the team and our client footprint in this market.
4. Team Support & Mentorship (The People Side)
You’ll also play an important role in developing others. You will:
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level team members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture across both offices.
- Encourage learning, creativity, and cross-team collaboration
5. Media & Influencer Expertise (The Craft)
You’ll help steer media and influencer work across your accounts. You will:
- Stay across media and influencer trends, platforms, and best practice.
- Oversee media relations and influencer activity, ensuring strategic, compliant delivery.
- Guide the development of pitches, releases, and influencer approaches that cut through.
- Using data/insights to inform and improve campaigns.
- Leading robust reporting and post-campaign reviews.
