We are on the hunt for our next superstar Grower!

Behind every amazing plant produced at your local nursery is a story, which often begins at Haars….and it’s the role of our Growing Team to ensure the quality of every plant propagated presents at its best. For over 40 years, we have been propagating, growing and supplying flowering plants, herbs and vegetables to a number of Australia’s leading retailers. Now, as we enter an exciting new phase of investment and growth, we are ready to expand our team.

Your Growth

While industry qualifications in agronomy, science, entomology will help, we are just

as willing to consider you without them so long as you can demonstrate a passion for plants, a curious, inquisitive mind and reliable, dependable work ethic. For the right person, with the right attitude we will provide you with all the on the job training you need to get to the next level of your career.

Your Role

Under the guidance of the Head Grower, you can expect a fulfilling learning journey which will cover, but not be limited to:

• Planting, watering, and fertilising crops to ensure healthy growth
• Monitoring plant health and identifying signs of disease or pests
• Fertigation and growing area environment management
• Working closely with team members to coordinate planting schedules

If that’s not enough, we will also train you on all things, water testing and analysis, plant pathology and propagation, growing media testing and analysis, use of organic crop protectants and greenhouse climate management.

Keep in mind, a career in horticulture often means working in the elements and at times, some weekend work for plant watering purposes. We will, however, offer a flexible mix of weekday and weekend work to meet full time hours, but you will need to ensure your fitness levels are great with the stamina to perform daily tasks such as lifting, bending and walking/standing for prolonged periods.

Our application process consists of a phone interview, face-to-face interview, and a pre-employment medical test.
