Position Overview:
The HVAC Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) operations across Griffin Marine Services projects in the NT. This includes planning, scheduling, overseeing installation, maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, WHS legislation and client requirements. It combines technical expertise with strong leadership, operational oversight and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily HVAC/R operations, coordinate maintenance schedules, ensure WHS and quality compliance as well as overseeing budgets and project timelines.
- Provide technical support, evaluate system designs, manage procurement, inventory and produce client reports.
- Lead and mentor technicians, conduct performance reviews and foster a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a primary client contact, prepare and develop proposals and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Trade or tertiary qualification in Mechanical/HVACR or Building Services.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVACR operations or project management.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and WHS legislation.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Proven experience as a Senior Operational Manager or General Manager in a national, multi- disciplinary business.
Desirable:
- Experience in the maritime or defence environments
