Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) is a body corporate constituted by the Greyhound Racing Act 2017 charged with providing strategic direction and leadership in the commercial management of the industry in NSW. In its role GRNSW promotes the exciting racing aspect of the industry, but also the equally important welfare and rehoming of our animals once their athletic careers are behind them through numerous pathways including the newly introduced international avenues. This role is working in our Greyhounds As Pets program, supporting our greyhounds find their forever home. Role Summary:

We are recruiting Kennel Attendants to work with our greyhounds in the Londonderry adoption center and prepare them for pet life. Kennel Attendants are responsible for the upkeep, care, and enrichment of the greyhounds and ensure that the site is maintained properly. Please note that these are casual roles and require flexibility to work on the weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and upkeep of kennels
  • Feeding and preparing food for greyhounds
  • Assist with the day-to-day care, enrichment greyhounds awaiting re-homing
  • Assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the facility.
  • Various other duties including vet trips
  • Represent GRNSW and GAP at a number of annual promotional and adoption events in the regions.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience and confidence in handling dogs
  • A full driver’s license is required and experience driving a trailer/van is preferred
  • Qualification in animal care preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of canine behavior is highly regarded
  • Passion for animal care and wellbeing.
  • Willingness to travel and work (reasonably) outside normal business hours, including weekends and afternoons.
