ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our Participants. GPSO offer 24/7 services to our Participants including day programs, personal care, community access, short-term accommodation (respite) and long term supported accommodation. We are seeking candidates with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and overnight.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Assisting Participants with daily living tasks and independent skillsProvide assistance with personal care, personal hygiene, administration of medication, meal preparation, mobility and transportEncourage and prompt independence in all aspects of daily living Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plansDocument services delivered, incidents and reportEffectively interact with Participants and promote social interactionEssential requirements include:
Compassion and genuine desire to support individuals with disabilitiesSolid verbal and written English skillsAbility to use technology, such as smart phones and computersAwareness of health and safety issues e.g. hazards and riskFirst Aid and CPR CertificateWorking with Children Check NDIS worker screeningNDIS Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety and You”Current Drivers’ License and own reliable transportFit and healthy and meet the inherent requirements as described in the position descriptionDesirable:
A Certificate III in Individual SupportPrevious experience in disability support or related fieldOther requirements:
Completion of National Police Check Pre-employment functional assessment (including drug and alcohol screening)Ability to be flexible with work hoursPossess a phone with availability to receive and make calls, access data and send textsPossess a private vehicle that may be used for work purposesABOUT US:
