Are you an organised, detail-driven professional who thrives on problem-solving and making a real difference? We are seeking an experienced Rostering Officer to join our team at Good Shepherd Lodge, and play a critical role in ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality care for our residents.
About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising rosters across residential aged care services. You will work closely with operational leaders, clinical teams, and employees to ensure rosters are compliant with our Enterprise Agreements and best practice rostering, cost-effective, and responsive to changing care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain daily and fortnightly rosters using Mirus software
- Prepare and manage rosters, ensuring compliance with Enterprise Agreements and organisational policies
- Manage planned and unplanned leave, shift changes and last-minute coverage requirements.
- Liaise with managers and team leaders to understand staffing needs
- Monitor and manage staff availability, leave requests, and shift preferences
- Maintain accurate staff records and contribute to payroll processes as needed
- Communicate rosters and changes to relevant staff in a timely manner
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance rostering efficiency and workforce utilisation
Skills & Experience:
- Previous recent experience in rostering, scheduling, or workforce coordination (preferably in aged care or healthcare)
- Knowledge of aged care standards, regulations, and accreditation processes.
- Knowledge of Fair Work Act and ability to interpret industrial agreements to ensure compliance with best practice rostering.
- Strong computer skills, with experience using rostering systems (e.g., Mirus, Kronos, Allocate, RosterOn)
- Excellent organisational and time management and ability to problem-solve
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
