Assistant in Nursing
About Us:
Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd, located in Mackay, Queensland, have two facilities, Kerrisdale Gardens and Good Shepherd Lodge and we are seeking Assistants in Nursing to join our clinical team on a part-time or casual basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, providing accurate documentation, and maintaining a caring and empathetic attitude towards residents.
About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Assistants in Nursing (AIN’s) to join our team. As an AIN, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to residents, assisting with daily living activities, and contributing to the overall comfort and well-being of residents under the guidance of our registered nurses. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor and report on resident health status, including vital signs and general well-being
- Support registered nurses in providing high-quality care
- Maintain resident records and documentation in accordance with healthcare standards
- Assist in resident mobility and positioning
- Provide emotional support and comfort to residents and their families
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
About You:
We are looking for a reliable and compassionate individual who is committed to providing the highest standard of care to our residents. The successful candidate will have:
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in residential aged care (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow care plans and work in a fast-paced environment
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain prior to employment
- Current Influenza (Flu) Vaccination or willingness to obtain, in line with QLD aged care requirements
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
