About the role

The Librarian Officer supports the mission, vision and values of the College community and the College’s Lutheran tradition wherein respect is the foundation for all relationships. This position is repsonsible for maintaining excellent library resources and contributing to a stimulating, welcoming and supportive enviornment that encourages students and staff to engage with the library’s programs and spaces.

Working collaboratively with the Library Manager, Library Team and teaching staff, the Library Officer provides effective library services across both the junior and senior libraries, ensuring the smooth operation of the circulation desk, resource management and access to digital and physical collections. The role also supports the delivery of engaging library programs, displays and events, while promoting innovative and efficient library services for the wider school community. You will be required to work across both the campuses.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Services(or relevant field), completed or in progress

– Australia Library and Information Association (ALIA) accreditation (Desirable)

– Current Working with Children Check (Required)

– Previous experience using a Library Management System

– Understanding of library operational systems including cataloguing, stocktake and weeding

– Intermediate MS office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

– Strong organizational, planning, communication and customer service skills.
