We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex projects. In this position, you will oversee on-site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with all relevant standards. Collaborating with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders, you will help translate technical plans into practical, high-quality results while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.

Your initial responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supervising daily project activities, ensuring strict adherence to schedules, environmental controls, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to interpret technical specifications and develop effective, executable project plans.
  • Implementing and upholding robust safety and environmental protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace for all personnel.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and reviewing comprehensive project documentation, including ITPs, quality records, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensuring all works comply with technical specifications, EPA requirements, approvals, and relevant industry standards.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across landfill construction and waste-management processes.
  • Fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence within the project team.
  • Promoting Goldsmith values and culture across all project activities.

About you

To be considered for this role, the successful applicant must have:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar civil engineering role, ideally within landfill, waste, or environmental infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, self-performed bulk earthworks and associated environmental controls.
  • Strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, collaborative construction environment. Bachelor-level qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid working rights in Australia.
  • Professional references.
