Natural Areas Team Member (Full-Time)
Location: West Brisbane / Ipswich Region
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Natural Areas Team Member to join our team working across diverse ecosystems throughout West Brisbane and Ipswich. This is a dynamic, field-based role where no two days are the same.

About the role:
You will play a key role in protecting and enhancing natural environments across council-managed lands, including mountain tracks and conservation areas such as those at Mount Coot-Tha. This involves working across a variety of landscapes, from bushland reserves and steep terrain to waterways and high-use recreational trails, where you will actively contribute to the preservation of native ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake on-ground conservation works across natural areas, bushland reserves, and
council-managed tracks
- Promote and support native vegetation growth through maintenance, and regeneration
activities
- Carry out aquatic and riparian restoration works
- Application of herbicides for effective weed management
- Work on a variety of council projects focused on ecosystem protection and rehabilitation
- Monitor and maintain environmental health across designated sites
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with environmental best practices
About You
You are reliable, physically fit, and enjoy working outdoors in a variety of environments. You take pride in contributing to meaningful environmental outcomes and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Requirements
- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Current Driver’s License
Qualifications & Experience
- ACDC License (Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control)
- Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management and/or Land Management
- Experience in bush regeneration, conservation works, or similar field-based roles
- Familiarity with safe work practices in natural area environments
