We are seeking a motivated IT Support Officer to join GEGAC. In this role, you’ll be the first point of
contact for staff IT needs – troubleshooting issues, managing devices, assisting with onboarding, and
supporting day-to-day operations.

Organisational Profile
GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of about 200 staff, GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC advocates for the self-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that
enhance social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, with culture at the heart of everything we do.
Position Purpose
The IT Support Officer provides Level 1-2 technical support to staff across the organisation, ensuring the reliable operation of end-user devices, systems and applications. The role focuses on delivering responsive, professional ICT support, assisting with system maintenance and security practices, and supporting the effective use of technology within the organisation.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience providing Level 1 or Level 2 IT support in a business environment.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows desktop environments.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Cloud Products including Intune and Entra ID.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and secure information handling practices.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to culturally respectful practice within an Aboriginal Community Controlled
Organisation.
Qualifications and Registrations
Requirement (Essential or Desirable).

Valid Victorian driver’s licence ESSENTIAL
- Formal relevant qualifications or experience in a similar position ESSENTIAL
- A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
- A person of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC requirements ESSENTIAL
