play a pivotal role in supporting the protection, celebration, and continuation
of Aboriginal cultures, knowledge systems, and ways of being.
In this role, you will
help embed cultural governance, provide cultural guidance to teams and leaders,
and foster environments where Aboriginal voices, perspectives, and cultural
authority are respected and uplifted. You will work closely with community,
Elders, Traditional Owners, and internal & external stakeholders to support
culturally grounded programs, build organisational capability, and champion
meaningful cultural accountability.

Organisational Profile
GEGAC is an Aboriginal
Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of
about 200 staff, GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holistic
services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders &
Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC advocates for the
self-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that
enhance social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, with culture at the heart
of everything we do.
Position Purpose
The Cultural Coordinator is
responsible for the coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of
culturally safe programs and activities across GEGAC. The role provides
cultural leadership within program areas, ensuring services are culturally
informed, community-connected, and aligned with GEGAC’s Cultural Framework and
Strategic Plan. The position supports staff and programs to embed cultural
practice, strengthen connections to community and culture, and deliver services
that are respectful, responsive, and culturally safe.

Qualifications and Registrations
Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
