We are looking for an experienced commercial sales leader in the position of Government Lead to join our team.

This Government Lead is a key member of our commercial team and plays a vital role in expanding our reach and relationships across the governments of Australia. You will build and deliver trusted partnerships and deliver a broad base of high-value opportunities across your key target agencies and departments. This role will lead the delivery of client services to government, be a valued member of the Commercial Leadership team and reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
FOCUS AREAS:
- Developing the approach to optimally service all levels government
- Building and maintaining positive relationships within government
- Growing existing accounts through value-based consultative selling
- Successfully sourcing, qualifying and converting government opportunities
- Account planning and execution
- Researching, identifying and engaging government agencies and departments that may benefit from Geoscape solutions – which include location intelligence products and services to support important government use cases including climate, insurance, housing, core citizen services, national security and defence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning and execution of a government commercial strategy to drive sales and revenue growth.
- Fostering close connections across government, tailored by the knowledge of customer
requirements and the value of a long term Geoscape partnerships.
- Qualifying, developing and closing opportunities with a focus on the delivery of additional
value to customers.
- Collaborating with Executive, Sales, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, Marketing and Product Teams to support our operations.
- Advocating for the needs of the customer in the development and delivery of Geoscape capability.
- Building and managing an accurate sales pipeline for opportunities.
- Developing a deep understanding of our products and capabilities and how to represent their value to customers and prospects.
- Generating new leads and opportunities through targeted prospecting activities.
- Delivering compelling presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Developing and accurately recording customer insights based on your research and sales
interaction.
- Developing and maintaining a sales plan for key customers.
- Pursuing additional business development opportunities with current and new customers.
