About the Role
We are looking for a Social Strategist to join our Melbourne team on a part-time basis (4 days per week).
This role will play a key part in shaping how Gemba’s ideas live beyond the physical experience, across social, creator, influencer and amplification channels.
You’ll work at the centre of strategy, creative and client work, embedding social and creator thinking into campaigns from the earliest stages. This includes everything from defining the role of platforms in a campaign, to developing creator approaches, content frameworks and amplification strategies.
You will work closely with Creative Strategists, creatives, client teams and producers to ensure ideas are platform-native, audience-led and built to perform across paid, owned and earned channels.
The role involves working across a range of sport and entertainment projects, with flexibility across four days per week.
What You’ll Do
Social & Creator Strategy
- Embed social, creator and amplification thinking into campaign development from brief through to delivery
- Define the role of social across campaigns, including awareness, participation, amplification, conversion and community building
- Develop social strategies, content frameworks, platform recommendations and channel roles
- Shape how ideas extend across paid, owned, earned, creator and partner ecosystems
Campaign & Client Work
- Translate client briefs into clear, actionable social and creator recommendations
- Develop creator, influencer, ambassador and talent approaches aligned to campaign objectives
- Support live event and activation planning, including content capture and creator integration
- Work closely with Creative, Strategy and Client teams to ensure ideas are practical, relevant and deliverable
Insights, Trends & Measurement
- Analyse audience behaviours, platform trends and cultural moments to inform campaign thinking
- Identify relevant fan and creator communities across sport and entertainment
- Apply social listening and cultural insights to strengthen strategic recommendations
- Develop measurement frameworks and KPIs linked to broader campaign objectives
- Review performance and capture learnings to improve future work
Collaboration & Contribution
- Contribute to pitch responses, proposals and strategic narratives
- Develop clear, compelling presentation materials for internal and client use
- Support internal teams with social and creator expertise across projects
- Help build tools, frameworks and best practice approaches for social strategy
About You
Experience
- 4-6 years’ experience in social strategy, creator strategy, influencer marketing, digital strategy or integrated campaign planning
- Experience developing social or creator thinking for campaigns, partnerships, activations or live experiences
- Experience contributing to pitches, proposals or client-facing strategic recommendations
- Background in sport, entertainment, sponsorship, events or agency environments highly regarded
Skills
- Strong social and creator strategy capability, with the ability to turn briefs into clear recommendations
- Deep understanding of platform-native behaviour across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and emerging channels
- Knowledge of paid, owned, earned and creator ecosystems and how they work together
- Strong understanding of creator and influencer models, including talent selection, usage and amplification
- Ability to develop content frameworks, channel strategies and campaign ecosystems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong deck writing ability
