We are a unified house of sibling agencies. Free Folk Agency is an independent, industry-leading consumer PR, social media, and influencer marketing agency. Steady Ground is our corporate communications arm, specialising in reputation management, crisis strategy, and First Nations communications. Under one roof, we unite the art of consumer marketing with the rigour of corporate strategy.

As our Group Account Director, you will step in as the most senior executional leader across both agencies and function as the primary strategic partner to our Agency Director.

You will take the reins as our Melbourne office lead, championing our agency culture and building out our Melbourne team and client portfolio.

  • Media Savvy: You have an undeniable eye for what drives public conversation and hold established relationships with national news, consumer, and lifestyle media.

This is a role with a genuine opportunity to grow with our independent agency, build your own team, and step into a highly autonomous, senior environment where your strategic voice directly shapes the agency’s growth trajectory.

  • Purpose-driven work: We only work with clients that align with our own values, and who we genuinely love and want to work with.
  • Professional development: We have a structured professional development process, supportive line management, clear career and growth planning, and a dedicated professional development budget per team member annually.
  • Hybrid flexibility: We believe great work can happen anywhere. We work from home on Monday and Friday, and from the office in Melbourne for three days during the week.
  • Leadership team: We are an independent female-founded agency committed to cultivating an empathetic work environment where culture, open communication, trust, and transparency are important values we uphold at all levels of the business.
