About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Certificates Compliance Officer – VEECs to support the compliant creation, validation and processing of Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.
This role plays an important part in ensuring certificate submissions are accurate, complete and processed efficiently, while helping protect the business from compliance risk and delays.
You will work closely with internal operations teams, trading/compliance functions, installers and external stakeholders to maintain strong standards across all VEEC activity.
Key Responsibilities
Certificate Compliance & Processing
- Review VEEC applications and supporting evidence for completeness, accuracy and eligibility.
- Validate customer records, installation evidence, product documentation and required declarations.
- Process certificate workflows accurately and within required timeframes.
- Monitor outstanding submissions and follow up missing or incorrect documentation.
- Escalate issues, irregularities or potential compliance risks promptly.
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Support
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) rules and scheme requirements.
- Support internal audits, quality checks and remediation activities.
- Assist with regulator requests, evidence reviews and documentation retrieval.
- Help ensure internal controls remain effective and fit for purpose.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with installers, field teams and internal stakeholders to resolve documentation or submission issues.
- Provide practical guidance on VEEC evidence standards and compliance expectations.
- Build effective working relationships with Victorian delivery partners.
Reporting & Improvement
- Maintain accurate records, logs and tracking registers.
- Provide reporting on volumes, exceptions, ageing items and risks.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, accuracy and turnaround times.
About You
- Previous experience in compliance, administration, operations or regulated processing environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to assess documentation accurately.
- Organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel / spreadsheet skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Experience working with VEECs, ESCs or PRCs.
- Exposure to energy certificates, utilities, renewable energy or compliance schemes.
- Experience in audit, evidence management or quality assurance.
- CRM or workflow platform experience.
