POSITION PURPOSE
As our entry-level Pharmacy Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing excellent service and support. Your responsibilities will include greeting customers, directing them throughout the store, processing transactions, and assisting with merchandising and pharmacy cleanliness. You will provide advice to customers in line with your level of experience and training.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Customer Service
• Ensure Flagship Pharmacies and relevant franchise Customer Service Standards are applied to all customers.
• Provide recommendations for over-the-counter products and advice on their use within experience and training levels.
• Refer customers to more experienced Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacists where necessary.
• Operate the point-of-sale system to process transactions.
• Ensure the customer comes first before any other delegated tasks or responsibilities.
• Greet customers within the first minute of their arrival to ensure they feel welcomed and valued.
• Refer to a pharmacist or appropriately qualified team member when necessary for additional advice.
• Adopt a conversational approach to asking customer questions.
• Ensure all customer orders/inquiries are followed through promptly.
• Promote and engage all customers regarding relevant franchise clinic services, relevant app and rewards program.
• Answer the telephone within 5 rings in a professional manner.
Staff Standards and Performance
• Complete any required accredited refresher training, and supplier training as directed by your Leader.
• Comply with all State, Federal, and Pharmacy policies, legislation, and procedures (i.e. QCPP, Occupational Health, and Safety, etc.)
• Promote a professional image of relevant franchise through your presentation, attitude, and actions while in uniform whether inside or outside of the pharmacy.
• Maintain punctuality and follow all pharmacy procedures.
• Attend all required staff meetings.
• Actively monitoring and contributing to the team’s snapshot goals.
• Engage with all pharmacy objectives, to ensure team priorities are being met and completed within the allocated time.
• Monitor all relevant franchise updates published on all communication systems.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy and cash and wrap till area.
Merchandising
• Ensure that presentation standards are maintained, and stock is displayed to state regulations.
• Ensure stock is displayed according to the planogram with necessary ticketing and signage.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Must Have:
• Current police check no older than 12 months old
• Current working with children check
• 2 relevant references
Skills & Attributes
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Contribute to a dynamic team with a broad range of roles and responsibilities.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
Working Conditions
• Positive and encouraging Team Culture.
• Frequent use of computer screens and prolonged periods of standing (6-8 hours) with ergonomic supports.
• Regularly lifting or moving items of moderate weight and reaching for items above shoulder height.

LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
• May only sell within established discount limits.
• Refunds must only be processed with the approval of your manager on duty.
• May only give advice/make recommendations that are considered within the scope of practice of a Pharmacy Assistant without the involvement of a registered pharmacist.
• Cannot partake in any activities which would be deemed as a conflict of interest with the Pharmacy.
• Where there is a dispute between yourself and a team member, customer, or supplier this is to be reported to your manager immediately.
