Position Description:
As a Kayak Tour Guide and Attendant, you will be responsible for leading kayak tours around Fitzroy Island’s pristine waters, ensuring guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. You will also assist with kayak rentals, provide equipment briefings, and maintain equipment to high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting guided kayak tours, sharing insights about local marine life and landmarks.
- Providing safety briefings and instructions to guests before embarking on tours.
- Assisting guests with kayak rentals and ensuring equipment is in excellent condition.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of kayak storage areas and tour equipment.
- Upholding safety protocols and emergency procedures during tours.
- Assist guests in the shop and ensure smooth operations by allocating, returning, and maintaining equipment for activities, alongside handling general retail store duties.
- Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, you aim to deliver a memorable, safe, and positive experience for our guests.
About You:
Successful applicants would have robust experience in a similar position and possess the following attributes:
- Passion for outdoor activities and water sports, particularly kayaking.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with guests of all ages.
- Strong swimmer with knowledge of water safety practices.
- Previous experience in guiding or outdoor education preferred.
- Ability to understand and share factual and relevant information pertaining to the resort and the environment.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
- Working with children- Blue Card & First Aid certification is a requirement for this position.
- Dive Masters & Rescue Divers are beneficial yet not essential to be considered for this role.
