FIT Merchandising & Sales Solutions

FIT Merchandising & Sales Solutions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to support a new compliance and field execution improvement project across our merchandising network nationally.

This role has been designed to improve accountability, consistency, and execution standards across the business by reviewing client surveys, in-store reporting, submitted photos, and merchandising outcomes.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying areas of improvement, recognising high-performing stores, and ensuring FIT continues to deliver exceptional standards to our suppliers and clients. This position will report directly to the National Manager and will initially operate as a 3-month project, with the opportunity for review and possible extension based on business needs and project outcomes.

Project Information

  • Project duration will be Three (3) months
  • Will be reviewed and potentially extended
  • 10–12 hours per week

About the Role

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for reviewing field merchandising submissions, supplier surveys, store photos, and completed reporting to assess the quality and standard of work being delivered across the business.

Using a structured rating system, you will identify both strong performance and areas requiring immediate improvement, helping to drive accountability and consistency in stores throughout the business. This role is highly detail-focused and requires strong commercial awareness, sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to confidently identify gaps in execution standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review ALL client surveys, merchandising reports, store photos, and field submissions in detail on a weekly basis
  • Assess work completed in-store against company expectations, supplier standards, and execution requirements
  • Apply the FIT rating scale consistently across all reviews:

    1. Urgent action required

    2. Below standard

    3. Acceptable standard

    4. Strong standard

    5. Excellent standard

  • Identify trends, recurring compliance concerns, and execution gaps across stores, suppliers, and team members
  • Highlight any gaps in field execution early and escalate concerns where required
  • Recognise and document strong performance examples across the field team
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Work closely with the National Manager and Senior Leadership Team to improve operational execution standards
  • Maintain and update a live Excel compliance tracker including:
    • Supplier
    • Store
    • Team Members
    • Rating
    • Issue Identified
    • Action Required
    • State Manager
    • Follow-Up Date
    • Outcomes
  • Ensure all compliance tracking is accurate, professional, and maintained in real time
  • Support supplier confidence by demonstrating FIT’s active commitment to field excellence and accountability
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling internal performance data and supplier information

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Minimum 3 years’ merchandising experience OR the ability to demonstrate strong operational and merchandising knowledge
  • Strong understanding of merchandising standards, execution expectations, and in-store compliance requirements
  • Sound knowledge of key suppliers, retail environments, and major brands
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies, execution gaps, and opportunities for improvement through photos and reporting
  • Confidence reviewing surveys, reports, and field submissions objectively and professionally
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including maintaining, translating surveys, objectives, photos and reports into data and then updating the live shared spreadsheets
  • Ability to analyse information and communicate findings clearly and professionally
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Professional judgement and the confidence to raise concerns where required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with leadership teams and state leaders
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling internal operational data
  • A solutions-focused mindset with a genuine interest in improving standards and supporting team success

Additional Role Information

To support consistency and accuracy across compliance reviews, the successful candidate will be provided with supplier-specific training, examples, and guidance outlining both strong and poor execution standards across various brands and retail environments.

This will ensure the Compliance Officer has a clear reference point when reviewing surveys, store photos, and merchandising reports, allowing for fair, consistent, and objective assessment of in-store execution standards across the business.
