Description

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Executive Assistant to join our team. This full-time, one year contract position, offers an exciting opportunity to work with our leadership team. This position is ideal for a highly organised person, with an interest in system creation and management and accreditation processes.

Who we are

First Nations Women’s Legal is a vibrant community legal centre that is grounded in culture. Our community-controlled Management Committee drives our strategic direction. Additionally, more than 50% of our staff team are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander women and our combined lived expertise informs our service delivery.

We are a not-for-profit NGO funded by State and Commonwealth governments as part of the National Access to Justice Partnership. Our priority is to enhance access to justice for First Nations women and to promote change within the justice system in the areas of family law, domestic violence, child protection and other civil areas of law.

Who you are

  • Qualifications in law, business, policy, or governance or similar, or
  • Relevant experience
  • Hold a current, unrestricted Queensland Driver Licence
  • Hold a current Blue Card (working with children check) or be eligible to obtain the same

 Knowledge, Skills & Expertise

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women preferred
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including cultural capability
  • High level executive organisational skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in administrative support
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and current computer technology
  • Attention to detail, discretion, problem solving and the ability to work under pressure
  • Manage competing priorities, deadlines, and calendars
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and to work independently with a minimum level of supervision
