The Opportunity

Farquhar Kitchens have a rare opportunity for an experienced Designer to join their team at our Plympton showroom. This is a chance to work with a leading and progressive South Australian company designing quality joinery solutions, supporting our retail clients and builder partners. 

You will be responsible for the sale, client consultation, design and selection of cabinetry projects for Farquhar Kitchens retail customers.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Follow up on sales leads provided by both online and walk in customers, by providing cabinetry and design solutions inline with Company standards and procedures
  • Meet clients in our showrooms to guide them through design and selections
  • Conduct site measures to document layouts and spatial planning
  • Manage client communication from initial concept to sign-off of plans
  • Provide support to all business units during all stages of a project to provide the best outcome to the customer
  • Achieve sales budgets through high level customer service, selling strategies and providing design solutions inline with clients brief
  • Provide information on additional services provided by U-Install-It Kitchens and KT3 Kitchens, where appropriate
  • Accountable for the management of retail customer contracts using business systems (eg Zendesk, Cabinet Vision, Pulse)
  • Provide guidance and support to other staff to improve work practices and standards.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A design background with at least 3 years experience, preferably in cabinetry, kitchen design, sales or estimating
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Good problem solving & time management skills
  • High level of computer literacy with the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Good time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • A high level of professionalism and integrity 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Current full driver’s licence

Exceptional candidates will also have:

  • Interior Design Diploma/Degree
  • Intermediate level of skill with Excel
  • Experience with Cabinet Vision
  • Experience working in a Sales roles with KPIs
