About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our growing construction team based in Norwest, NSW.

Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will be responsible for the commercial administration of construction projects, ensuring contracts, subcontracts, procurement activities and project documentation are effectively managed to support successful project delivery.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is confident managing subcontractor procurement, variations, cost reporting, contractual risk and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, administer and manage head contracts and subcontract agreements
  • Prepare, issue and assess subcontractor tender packages / RFTs
  • Negotiate and finalise subcontract agreements, contract amendments and variations
  • Manage contract correspondence, notices and contractual documentation
  • Assess, prepare and negotiate variations, EOTs and commercial claims
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations, programme milestones and deliverables
  • Assist with procurement, subcontractor evaluation and selection
  • Track project costs, commitments and expenditure against budgets
  • Prepare commercial reports, progress updates and management reporting
  • Review and monitor construction programmes, identifying impacts, delays or commercial risks
  • Support project delivery teams to achieve programme, cost and contractual objectives
  • Assist with project closeout, including final accounts and contract completion documentation
  • Maintain accurate contract records and document control systems
  • Ensure compliance with WHS procedures, company policies and contractual obligations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of contract administration systems, templates and processes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Contracts Administrator in the commercial building / construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, subcontract administration and commercial risk
  • Experience managing variations, progress claims, procurement and subcontract negotiations
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation
  • Strong commercial acumen with sound negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational capability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with construction project management / contract administration software

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Current driver’s licence
