Description

Support Worker (Internally know as an Enablement Assistant)

Location: Southampton

Employment: Permanent

Hours: Part-time hours available

Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour

** Driver with full UK drivers licence**

About the role

I am a 49-year-old female with a diagnosis of autism, a learning disability, and schizoaffective disorder. I live in my own home in the Southampton area and am looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, and dynamic team members to support me on a 2 to 1 support ratio.

I enjoy taking part in a variety of activities and write my daily routine and activities into my diary. It is very important to me that my team support me by prompting activities, as I will tend to stay indoors and do indoor activities by default, but I do enjoy going out once there. I love taking special bags out with me when I do go out, either in my car or for a walk. I like to go to parks, the funfair, and other enjoyable locations where there are fun activities. I have recently been to sandy ball holiday park for my birthday for the week and I especially enjoyed this.

I enjoy talking and asking questions, that may come across personal, however I like to know things about you to be able to build a relationship with you and develop trust. I like to give others hugs and link arms with them. There are times I can get anxious, and I can display verbally and physically challenging behaviour, therefore I need calm, patient and resilient team members who understand my anxiety and who can support me through the difficult times.

I am looking for people to support and enable me with my daily life skills, as well as verbally prompt me and support me during my personal care.

My ideal team would consist of people who are friendly, fun and can reassure me when I need to feel safe and secure.

If you feel you can help me to live independently and feel you can bring positivity and fulfilment to my life, please apply now
