The role
Are you a strategic communicator with a strong grasp of media relations and a passion for politics and current affairs? We’re seeking a high-performing communications specialist with 3-5 years’ experience to join our Sydney team in a full time capacity. The ideal candidate will bring established contacts and expertise in media relations, and a deep understanding of the political and government landscape – particularly when it comes to managing organisational reputation in volatile environments.
In this role, you’ll use your ability to craft clear, compelling messages that engage media, influence stakeholders, and support clients navigating high-stakes issues. Your background is likely to have come from media or journalism, government or politics– what matters most is your ability to think strategically and communicate with impact.
As part of our Communications team, you’ll contribute to complex, meaningful work across the corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors. You’ll be central to delivering integrated solutions for clients, from strategy development and issues management to media engagement, stakeholder relations, and digital communications.
We are looking for someone who thrives on delivering high-quality outcomes in dynamic environments – someone with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, who brings professionalism, adaptability and a good sense of humour to their work.
The role is based in our Sydney CBD office, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.
We are looking for a high-performing consultant who is:

- Curious and proactive: you will have a can-do attitude and able to identify and/or support innovative ideas to progress projects for clients

- Self-starter: able to manage workstreams and deliverables as well as collaborate within client teams
- Genuinely keen and interested in communications, current affairs, government and the media with established networks in these areas
- Committed to your ongoing professional development
Typical practical skills and experience should include:
- 3+ years in a media, or communications role in a corporate, government and/or consulting environment.
- Strong writing capabilities – the confidence and ability to write clearly and succinctly
- Strong analytical skills to absorb complex information and turning it into clear and concise information
- Organisation skills – capable of setting up and adhering to your own system of structuring your workday
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and listening skills
- Positive approach with a good sense of humour
