Description

  • Fixed term (12-months), full-time on-site position with free on-site parking.
  • Develop and implement strategies to serve evolving academic administration needs of Excelsia each semester.

About the Role

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of the academic administration function and staff of the academic administration team
  • Design, development, and implementation of academic administration processes;
  • Negotiation of cross functional documentation processes for academic administration;
  • Integration of technologies and automation in academic administration cycles;
  • Project management of strategic academic administration projects;
  • High level analysis and reporting on key metrics and delivering presentations to senior leaders;
  • Fostering mutually beneficial partnering relationships with the academic schools;
  • Fostering mutually beneficial working relationships with key stakeholders such as Registrar, P&C, Quality, and Finance;
  • Supporting the executive operations of the Vice-Provost (Academic) office;
  • Supporting compliance responsibilities of Excelsia in alignment with the HESF and other relevant quality frameworks;
  • Liaising across the institution to support the full student life cycle (i.e. enrolments, results, timetabling and reporting through to graduation and alumni engagement).

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

  • Possession of a postgraduate qualification in Business, Administration or equivalent and extensive relevant experience.

Essential:

  • Committed Christian involved in a local congregation.
  • Extensive experience (ideally, 10+ years) working in coordination and administration.
  • An understanding of current and emerging trends in Higher Education and best practice academic administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement during periods of institutional change.
  • Extensive administration and project management skills.
  • Strong and developed interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders (i.e., Heads of School, the Registrar, People & Culture, Finance, and the VPA’s office) to achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to apply specialist and integrated bodies of knowledge to work assignments, such as program and policy development and implementation.
  • Proven ability to manage specialised units where significant innovation, initiative and/or judgment are required.
  • Experience in a higher education or regulated environment (TEQSA, ASQA, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with student management systems (e.g., Paradigm or similar)
  • Experience with data reporting and business intelligence tools
  • Experience managing or redesigning operational processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply equal opportunity principles and work health and safety principles in the workplace.
  • Strong technological literacy, including Microsoft Office suite and experience with a learning management system, Moodle is strongly preferred.
  • Full Australian Working Rights.
