Senior Network Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Networks and Connectivity Practice team to plan, design, configure and implement network solutions to customers of ENTAG.

The role is also required to provide expert technical expertise within the Network domain, and to deliver on project implementation.  The incumbent of the role will act as the subject matter expert across suitable products whilst maintaining regular customer contact and the provision of onsite network deployment and customer support where needed. Escalation support for the Managed Services team is also required.

In this role you will:

• Pre-sales activity serving as a liaison between customers and internal sales teams.
• Provide leadership and support to develop and continuously improve Entag’s products and services (both to customers, and internally).
• Continually analyse operational methods, policies, practices and standards with a view to making supported systems more cost effective and aligned with user requirements.
• Develop and maintain documentation for procedures, processes, designs and builds such as as-built documents and design documents.
• Undertake technical design workshops (both pre-and post-sales) with customers and develop solutions.
• Drive the implementation of solutions to customer environments, focussing on the LAN/WAN and network security domains.
• Encompass the role of subject matter expert on all network related items, including network design, implementation, and management.
• Liaise closely with Project Managers to ensure appropriate planning is conducted.
• In a timely manner, record all project activity in the relevant systems including written descriptions and time recording for all actions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and managed services team.
• Assist with the review of technical solutions and effort estimates needed for RFPs/proposals.

About you:

You will have:

• Extensive experience creating, troubleshooting and supporting complex networking environments, including implementation and management of networks.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet products and services, with proven involvement in large-scale rollouts.
• Extensive experience with Cisco Meraki products and services.
• Extensive experience with network design, including producing network diagrams, implementation plans and as-built documentation.
• Experience working with ISPs on WAN rollouts and implementation with regard to Telstra services.
• Experience with Telstra (or other Telco) network services including Internet Direct, MPLS, Point-to-Point, Dark Fibre, Satellite and cellular technologies is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Route, Switch, wireless and security technologies.
• Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS) certification or higher.
