About the Position
We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in either our Birtinya office in the Sunshine Coast, or our Albion office in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Finance Controller, the successful person will play an integral role in supporting and developing the capability of the Finance function by establishing, improving and monitoring financial systems, ensuring compliance obligations are met and that timely reporting of the financial performance of the business is provided.
We’re looking for someone who values strategic thinking, genuinely enjoys their work and brings that energy to the team – comfortable collaborating day-to-day, and equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and delivering outcome independently.
In this role you will:
- Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations.
- Own the end‑to‑end month‑end close process, including close timetables, issue resolution,
and final review of outputs.
- Maintain ownership of balance sheet integrity across the Group, including investigation and resolution of complex or aged items.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts with clear financial commentary.
- Assist in finance process improvement initiatives, including automation, standardisation, and control enhancements.
- Assist in external audit processes.
- Identify and remediate financial control gaps and process risks.
- Review Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll outputs
for accuracy and compliance.
- Act as an escalation point for complex finance queries across the business.
- Budget management, variance analysis and reforecasting.
- BAS, PAYG and FBT returns for the Group as well as assisting ENTAG’s external Accountant in the preparation and lodgement of tax returns and dividend payments.
- Cashflow forecasting.
- Support the team in the delivery of process improvement and ad-hoc projects.
About You:
You will have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accountant positions, preferably within fast paced, commercially focussed and growth orientated organisations.
- A relevant undergraduate qualification (CA/CPA desirable however not essential).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- Experience working with a Multi-Entity Group Structure with Director/Owners active within the business.
- Xero software experience preferred, with the ability to learn other systems quickly (accounting and non-accounting).
- Strong technology and computer skills (MS Office suite, with advanced skills in Excel, and Word).
- Keen interest in Technology. Experience working within the telecommunications, technology or professional services sector is desirable, but not essential.
