About the Role
This role is ideal for a senior MSP engineer who enjoys understanding environments end‑to‑end and wants to move beyond day‑to‑day reactive support.
As Technical Advisory Manager, you’ll take ownership of technical onboarding, auditing clients environments, and delivering technology roadmaps (vCIO) — ensuring we fully understand each client’s environment and set them up for long-term success.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and mentor a small team of Technical Advisory Engineers
- Own technical onboarding for new managed service clients
- Conduct and oversee ICT audits, security reviews and environment assessments
- Identify risks, technical debt and improvement opportunities
- Ensure client environments are accurately documented and understood
- Develop and maintain clear, practical technology roadmaps
- Work closely with Account Managers and leadership on technical planning
- Set and improve standards for advisory processes, documentation and quality
- Provide senior technical input where required, including occasional escalation support

What You’ll Bring
Essential
- 8+ years’ experience in MSP or similar IT engineering roles
- Strong experience across Microsoft 365 and Windows server environments
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, Wi‑Fi)
- Hands‑on experience assessing and documenting client environments
- Ability to identify risks and translate technical issues into clear recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience with audits, solution design or advisory‑style work
- Exposure to cyber security frameworks (e.g. Essential Eight)
- Virtualisation and backup technologies (e.g. Hyper‑V, VMware, Veeam)
- Relevant Microsoft, networking or security certifications
