About the Role

  • We are seeking a Project Engineer with a civil or construction background to join our Darwin team.
  • This is a site-based role responsible for overseeing civil subcontractor works and ensuring compliance with QA, WHS and permit requirements.
  • In this role, you will support the delivery of fire protection infrastructure within major construction projects, working closely with project managers, supervisors, design teams and subcontractors.
  • This role involves civil works including high-risk excavation and underground services.
  • This role will suit a Project Engineer with a civil construction background who enjoys a hands-on, site-based role supervising subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
  • You will support site delivery by coordinating engineering documentation and assisting with the technical aspects of project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate civil subcontractors on-site
  • Ensure compliance with QA, WHS and permit requirements
  • Support the delivery of fire protection and civil works within construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications and engineering documentation
  • Assist with coordination of subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
  • Monitor project progress and ensure works meet technical and quality requirements
  • Assist with RFIs, technical queries, and engineering documentation
  • Support project reporting, scheduling and compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate project records and engineering data
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to resolve technical issues

About You

  • Civil Engineering qualification or equivalent experience in civil construction
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Project Engineer or Site Engineer role within construction or infrastructure
  • Experience supervising subcontractors on construction sites is highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and site coordination
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and project documentation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with site and office teams
  • Experience with Procore, AutoCAD and MS Office are desirable
  • Mandatory Requirement: Due to project requirements, applicants must hold Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency to be considered.
