Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aged Care Assistant to provide essential support and assistance to elderly individuals across all industries. As an Aged Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our elderly clients. This position requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist elderly individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote a positive and nurturing environment.
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including light housekeeping duties.
- Document and report any changes in clients’ physical or mental conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop and implement care plans.
- Participate in training and educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills in aged care.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Agerd Care
- Previous experience in aged care or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient nature.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of Aged Care Act.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle stressful circumstances.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications are desirable.
