Description

WHO WE ARE

Emu Gully Adventure Education Group exists to ‘Shape Great Australians’.

We believe in the power of the outdoors. Through shared experience, challenge, and responsibility, we inspire participants to discover what they’re truly capable of. We operate a 280-acre site at Helidon Spa and a growing 65-acre site at Tamborine — and we’re currently looking for a passionate, grounded person to help us deliver experiences that leave a mark at our Helidon site.

THE ROLE

As a Facilities Assistant, you’ll be a hands-on member of the Emu Gully team, making sure our sites are clean, safe, and operational at all times. You’ll work across groundskeeping, building maintenance, and activity support — and you’ll do it with pride, because the condition of our site is part of the experience our participants have.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Keep all internal and external facilities clean, maintained, and well-presented
  • Mow, whipper snip, and manage weeds across the property
  • Carry out septic management
  • Complete daily equipment and meter reading checks
  • Perform basic vehicle checks and maintenance
  • Maintain paintball and activity equipment
  • Restock supplies around the site
  • Assist with chainsaw duties and firewood collection
  • Support Emu Gully programs as directed by the Facilities Manager
  • Comply with and champion our Health and Safety standards

From time to time, you’ll also help out with:

  • Minor plumbing and building repairs
  • Activity infrastructure maintenance
  • Basic machinery operation and servicing
  • Basic vehicle servicing

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) — or willing to obtain
  • Manual driver’s licence
  • Queensland Firearms Licence (or ability to obtain)
  • Solid organisational and time management skills
  • A mobile device to access work applications and reporting
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness — the role involves sustained standing, manual handling, and working outdoors

The Kind of Person Who’ll Thrive Here

  • You’re a hard worker who gets things done without needing to be asked twice
  • You take pride in your work — a well-mown lawn and clean facilities matter to you
  • You’re comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • You back yourself to solve problems and try new things
  • You genuinely align with Emu Gully’s mission and want to be part of something bigger than a job

 WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Full time role
  • 5 Weeks annual leave
  • Uniforms supplied
  • Meals provided when working on site

 HOW TO APPLY:

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Send your resume and a brief cover letter telling us why you’d be a great fit for the Emu Gully team.
