This role

The SDR Manager is one of the most important and highest impact roles within our Sales organisation. This role operates at a much bigger level than the title might suggest.

At Employment Hero, our SDR Managers aren’t simply responsible for managing activity and leading a team. They operate at the centre of revenue, people, AI, systems and strategy.

Many of our leaders operate with the breadth of thinking you’d typically associate with more senior leadership roles. We don’t expect perfection, but we do expect curiosity, ownership and the ability to think beyond your immediate team.

You’ll own and shape a critical part of our growth engine, helping build and evolve the next era of outbound at Employment Hero. You won’t simply execute an existing playbook. You’ll help build, challenge and evolve it and be expected to leave it stronger than you found it.

This is a role for leaders who enjoy building things, solving problems and creating lasting impact. You’ll coach and develop future top performers and leaders, use data to diagnose opportunities, leverage AI to remove friction and partner across the broader business to continuously improve how we operate.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing SDR team responsible for generating qualified pipeline and driving revenue outcomes
  • Own regional outbound pipeline generation performance across activity, conversion, quality and efficiency metrics
  • Own and evolve the outbound motion, continuously improving how we identify, prioritise and engage accounts across target markets
  • Build and refine repeatable outbound playbooks across targeting, qualification, messaging, prospecting strategies and multi-channel engagement approaches. Build scalable systems, frameworks and operating rhythms that improve consistency and performance
  • Coach the full performance spectrum, from helping new talent find their feet through to helping top performers reach exceptional levels
  • Analyse funnel and performance data to identify trends, diagnose root causes and remove bottlenecks
  • Continuously improve outbound efficiency and quality by understanding what creates strong opportunities and stronger downstream outcomes
  • Leverage AI, automation, intent signals and technology to remove low-value work and improve productivity, decision making and prospecting effectiveness
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, RevOps, Enablement and Product teams to continuously optimise our GTM motion
  • Partner on account strategy, market design and territory approaches to improve focus and performance
  • Hire, onboard and develop exceptional talent while creating a culture of accountability, curiosity, growth, fun and ownership
  • Build future AEs and future leaders through coaching, development and career pathways
  • Champion experimentation and continuously test new ideas, channels and approaches
  • Challenge existing thinking and proactively improve the way we work

You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years experience within SaaS sales leadership or sales development environments at SMB level
  • Experience leading high-performing SDR or BDR teams in fast-moving environments
  • Strong commercial thinking and an ability to balance people, process and revenue outcomes
  • Proven experience building, improving or scaling outbound motions
  • Proven experience using data to diagnose issues and drive meaningful change
  • Strong coaching capability with a genuine passion for developing people
  • Experience building or improving systems, processes or operating frameworks
  • Strong AI and technology curiosity with an appetite for experimentation
  • Ability to influence, collaborate and drive alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating clarity in fast-moving environments
