This role

Employment Hero is scaling fast, and our people need to keep pace with it. This role owns that problem. The Hero Enablement Manager makes sure every Hero has the skills and context to operate effectively. You’ll build the capability engine behind our growth with real training that lands.

It’s a business-critical leadership position that requires commercial instinct, speed, and deep alignment with the direction our Co-Founders are taking the business. There’s no fixed playbook for what we’re building – we’re designing how our people continually develop to meet the needs of the workforce of the future, at scale, in a real business, in real time. Every major organisation will need to tackle this challenge. We’re moving early, and the person who leads this work will help build something genuinely new for how enablement is done.

What you’ll focus on

  1. Building the capability engine. Design and drive re-skilling programs that prepare our people for how work is changing. Build enablement infrastructure that stays current.
  2. Leading a high-performing team. Set a high bar, give your team the context and autonomy to move fast, and develop them into stronger operators.
  3. Developing leaders faster. Own leadership development at EH. Build practical programs for new and developing managers that build real skill, fast, with no room for anything that doesn’t move the needle.
  4. Becoming the AI voice inside the business. Go deep enough on AI and agent-building that teams across go-to-market, support, implementations and product trust your read on what’s coming and how to prepare for it.

This will include:

  • Building and maintaining real-time enablement systems
  • Owning leadership development end to end, from new managers through to senior leaders
  • Designing and running AI Training, empowering our Hero’s to build and manage advanced AI agents independently
  • Partnering with function heads across the business to understand what’s changing and build enablement around it
  • Reducing New Hire Time to Effectiveness quarter on quarter
  • Navigating SLT and ELT to get clarity, scope ambiguous problems, and clear roadblocks
  • Reporting on enablement impact through leader pulse survey results

  • You have proven experience in enablement, learning & development, or people capability – with a track record of building things people actually used and that made a measurable difference.

  • Strong commercial thinking; you connect capability programs to business outcomes without needing to be prompted.
  • Excellent communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats; you can adapt your style from a frontline team to a leadership forum.
  • A bias toward action, a high tolerance for change, and a genuine belief that the best is always ahead.
  • You think in outcomes, not activities. Everything you build, you can connect to a business result.
