Are you a detail‑driven finance professional who enjoys working across both financial and management accounting while partnering with the business to deliver accurate, timely insights?

We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to support our business units and play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, this role offers strong exposure to month‑end processes, statutory compliance, and commercial finance activities.

What is the role?

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the Financial Accountant supports assigned business units by delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing meaningful analysis to support business decisions.

You’ll work closely with the broader finance team and stakeholders across the business, gaining exposure to financial modelling, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Financial Management

  • Manage General Ledger activities including month‑end accruals, prepayments, and journals for assigned entities
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheets, including investigation of outstanding items
  • Prepare and analyse monthly Profit & Loss statements
  • Maintain and review fixed asset registers
  • Support payroll cost accounting, allocations, and reconciliations
  • Assist with tax and compliance obligations including GST, PAYG, FBT, payroll tax, and statutory reporting

Management Reporting

  • Deliver monthly management reporting with variance analysis
  • Support year‑end financial reporting and respond to audit queries
  • Assist with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Contribute to preparation of reporting packs and business performance insights

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Attend monthly P&L review meetings with department managers
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and finance teams (including offshore support)
  • Partner with the business to ensure accurate and timely financial information

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support finance projects, process improvements, and system enhancements
  • Contribute to reporting, data insights, and financial modelling activities

Who are we looking for?

You’re a confident and detail‑driven finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced commercial environment. You’re comfortable engaging with non‑finance stakeholders, can clearly explain financial insights, and take pride in delivering accurate, timely outcomes.

You will bring:

  • CA or CPA qualified (or working towards) with a relevant degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role within a commercial or professional services environment
  • Experience delivering month‑end reporting and working to tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding of financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and reconciliations
  • Sound knowledge of GST, payroll tax, and statutory compliance requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (ideally Oracle Fusion)
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
