Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services (EDAS) is seeking passionate and culturally responsive Registered Nurses (RN), to join our growing transdisciplinary team. This is your opportunity to deliver meaningful, person-centred care to Aboriginal clients across the lifespan, in a setting that values connection, capability, and community.
About the Role
As part of our primary health care team, you’ll play a vital role in improving health outcomes through trauma-informed, culturally safe nursing care. This includes conducting health assessments, chronic disease support, immunisations, wound care, health education, and more, depending on your scope of practice.
You will also collaborate closely with GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health, visiting specialist and EDAS program staff to ensure care is holistic and coordinated. This is a unique opportunity to deliver health services that respect cultural identity and foster long-term wellness.
What You’ll Do
* Deliver safe, respectful, evidence-based nursing care
* Perform comprehensive assessments and support preventive health initiatives and chronic disease management
* Provide health education tailored to the needs of Aboriginal clients
* Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
* Participate in culturally relevant health promotion activities
* Collaborate with external providers to ensure continuity of care
* Uphold ethical and professional standards aligned with AHPRA
What You’ll Bring
* Current AHPRA registration
* Clinical experience and sound nursing skills relevant to your scope
* Respectful understanding of primary health care in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health context
* Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
* Commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed practice
* Current CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
* Working With Children Check, National Police Check, and Driver’s Licence
Desirable
* Aboriginality
* Experience working in Aboriginal communities
* Knowledge of immunisation protocols and medical record systems
* Understanding of local Aboriginal community social and health impacts
