About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and detail-driven Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll across El Jannah’s corporate team and company-operated restaurants.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, with a close working relationship with HR, this role is critical to ensuring payroll is accurate, compliant and delivered on time across a growing and complex business.

This role involves more than just processing payroll. You’ll act as the subject matter expert, lead improvements in systems and processes, support audits and compliance, and provide trusted advice to internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing end-to-end weekly payroll across multiple entities
  • Ensuring compliance with Awards, PAYG, superannuation and legislation
  • Overseeing onboarding, offboarding and payroll data integrity
  • Managing superannuation processing, reconciliations and reporting
  • Leading month-end and year-end payroll processes
  • Acting as the escalation point for payroll queries and issue resolution
  • Building and improving payroll processes, systems and work instructions
  • Supporting audits with ATO, Fair Work and other regulators
  • Partnering with Finance, HR and Operations to support business needs
  • Delivering accurate reporting, insights and board-level payroll data

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years’ experience managing payroll in a medium to large environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards and compliance
  • Proven experience managing multiple payrolls end-to-end
  • Advanced Excel skills, with Power BI highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
