Our HR Consultancy specializes in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Payroll Auditing, HR and Payroll system implementations, Workplace Health and Safety, Recruitment and Workers Compensation. We serve as the guiding hand that small to medium-sized businesses need for comprehensive HR support.

The Position:

We are experiencing rapid growth company wide, we are looking for a senior consultant to join our team.

We are flexible with how this role is structured and open to two possible arrangements:

1. One full-time employee – with strong HR, IR, and Payroll auditing experience, working across both the HR & Payroll Audit and the Systems team.

OR

2. Two part-time employees – with responsibilities split as follows:

o Approximately 24 hours per week in the Systems & Audit team

o Approximately 24 hours per week in the HR & IR team

For clarity, the responsibilities have been outlined separately under the HR & IR Team and the Systems & Audit Team to show how the role may be structured.

Key Responsibilities for the HR and IR Team:

• Provide expert advice on Award coverage and interpreting awards for clients. You are not required to know all awards, however previous experience, classifying, interpreting and providing complex advice on the SCHADS awards, as well as a few others is essential.

• Offer general and complex Human Resource and Industrial Relations advice across a variety of industries.

• Support clients in managing absenteeism, performance concerns, and serious misconduct matters.

• Act as the outsourced HR Manager for ongoing clients, managing day-to-day HR queries, performance reviews, and salary adjustments.

• Lead and advise on complex client restructure projects, ensuring compliance and clear communication throughout the process.

• Review, draft, and implement tailored HR policies and procedures.

• Prepare and issue employment contracts, ensuring they are customised to the client’s industry, Award, and operational needs.

• Assist clients with Workers Compensation claims.

Key Responsibilities System and Audit Team:

• Effectively project manage system and audit initiatives to meet deadlines and achieve high levels of client satisfaction.

• Partner with clients to understand business objectives and deliver tailored system implementations aligned to their needs.

• Maintain clear and consistent client communication on project progress, audit outcomes, and system updates, addressing issues and resolving discrepancies promptly.

• Conduct payroll audits of varying complexity, from routine checks to extensive investigations over extended periods.

• Implement payroll and HRIS systems, with strong expertise in Employment Hero – Payroll (KeyPay), Employment Hero – HRIS, ELMO, and Xemplo.

• Validate client data, identifying and resolving anomalies prior to integration.

• Undertake rigorous testing to ensure accurate interpretation of Awards and pay conditions.

• Deliver client training sessions to ensure confident system use and compliance.

• Create practical learning materials and resources to support managers and staff in system adoption.

Our Ideal Senior Consultant will have:

• At least 10 years of senior-level Human Resources experience.

• Proven ability to provide complex advice across a wide range of industries.

• Strong knowledge of Industrial Awards with demonstrated expertise in accurate interpretation and application.

• Previous experience determining Award coverage across multiple industries.

• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

• Prior project management experience (highly regarded).

• A client-centric mindset with a strong focus on delivering excellent service.

• Demonstrated commercial acumen and sound decision-making skills.

Specific experience required for the Systems and Aduit position:

• While payroll exposure is advantageous, it is not essential. What’s crucial is your understanding of the nuances of award interpretation to effectively identify non-compliance

• Previous experience working with or implementing payroll and HRIS systems.

• Previous experience with KeyPay and Employment Hero will be highly advantageous.

• A mind set of best practice, ensuring that throughout your implementations that you are thinking of the best way to modify the system to meet our client’s needs.

• Is confident in collaborating with clients to understand their needs and identify areas of concern within their business, and then suggesting solutions to rectify these.

• Has a strong understanding of Industrial Awards. We don’t expect you to know all awards by heart, however confidently reading and interpreting awards is essential. This skill set is required for testing payroll systems to ensure that the award is being interpreted properly. Note the awards are prebuilt, however there are occasions where you need to make adjustments, and thorough testing is required.
