The Role
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the CFO, this is a key finance leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for the finance function.
You will ensure accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance in line with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), while producing high‑quality monthly management accounts that clearly articulate underlying performance, including the identification and explanation of normalisation and non‑recurring adjustments.
You’ll remain hands-on across core accounting activities while leading, mentoring, and developing a capable finance team.
The office is currently based in Underwood and will relocate to South / Central Brisbane later this year.
What You’ll Own
- Full ownership of the general ledger, ensuring accounting integrity and compliance with AASB standards
- Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including identification and explanation of normalisation, one‑off, and non‑recurring adjustments to support clear commercial decision‑making
- Delivery of Board reporting, statutory year‑end accounts, and audit processes
- Financial consolidation across acquired and organic entities
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
- Oversight of accounts payable and receivable, maintaining strong working capital outcomes
- Management of audit, tax, and external advisor relationships
- Ownership of corporate insurance policies, including renewals, coverage reviews, and claims management
- Oversight of facilities management, including premises-related costs, controls, and supplier relationships
- Financial governance and oversight of the motor vehicle fleet, including leasing, costs, and policy compliance
- Commercial analysis to identify cost efficiencies, margin improvement, and performance gaps
- Leadership and development of a high‑performing finance team
- Driving continuous improvement in financial controls, processes, and reporting quality
About You
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager role
- Strong technical accounting capability with demonstrated experience applying AASB standards
- Highly capable in producing commercially meaningful management accounts, not just compliant ones
- A hands-on operator with strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
- Commercially astute – able to explain financial outcomes, adjustments, and risks in plain language
- Confident people leader who builds accountability and capability
- Experience managing audits, reporting cycles, and compliance obligations
- Ability to partner with senior leaders and influence outcomes
