Description

The Lead Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical and commercial leadership across all stages of renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on wind farm, PV, and storage development in Australia. This role oversees the engineering workstream, manages the project engineering team, and ensures the successful execution of projects from initial conception through to financial close, construction, and operational handover. The incumbent will provide expert guidance in design, construction, and operation, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including finance, legal, procurement, and construction, to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable outcomes.

The Lead Project Engineer also plays a critical role in contract management, technical due diligence, and risk mitigation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety, and environmental requirements. The role involves driving engineering excellence through the development and implementation of standards, processes, and best practices, as well as evaluating new technologies and innovations. Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to resolve technical and construction challenges are essential to successfully delivering projects that meet EDF’s objectives and strategic goals.
