We’re looking for a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Practice Manager to join our team in Mount Isa. This is your opportunity to drive change, lead a dedicated team, and shape services that truly make an impact.
As the Mount Isa Domestic Violence Practice Manager, you’ll:
- Lead service delivery and development across Mount Isa programs.

About You
You’re a future-focused, compassionate leader with:
- Degree in human services (or 5+ years’ experience in a similar field).
- Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in domestic and family violence or related areas.
- Advanced knowledge of DFV legislation, risk assessment frameworks, and trauma-informed practice.
- Strong cultural capability and commitment to working respectfully with First Nations peoples.
What We’re Looking For – Selection Criteria
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

Qualifications and Experience – Degree-level qualification in a relevant human services discipline OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar field and at least 3 years’ full-time equivalent professional experience in domestic and family violence or related human services roles.

Knowledge – Advanced knowledge of DFV legislation, risk assessment frameworks, information sharing guidelines/legislation and expertise in trauma-informed practices.

Line Management– Experience line managing and supervising staff, providing practice direction and specialist practice advice.

Cultural Capability – Can modify practice to meet the context and experience of First Nations peoples to ensure genuine cultural capability for self, staff and team.

Compliance – Ability to develop policies and practices, ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Leadership – Values-driven, resilient and emotionally intelligent leader with advanced decision making and problem-solving skills.

Child Safety – Advanced understanding of the complex ways children are harmed through their experiences of DFV.

Partnerships – Abilit to establish higher order networks and relationships across the sector to facilitate smooth referral pathways and effective information sharing.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current QLD C Class Driver’s Licence
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Australia: National Police Check Clearance – at organisation expense
