Description

Rostering Officer

  • 3‑month contract with potential for extension
  • Full -time hours, Monday to Friday (Rostered shifts between 7:00am – 6:00pm)
  • In‑office, Brisbane City QLD
  • IMMEDIATE START

DVConnect is seeking a rostering professional to join the Workforce Planning Team on a fixed‑term basis (parental leave cover), supporting the delivery and ongoing administration of established rostering functions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Proactively and reactively oversee shift coverage, monitoring rosters in real time and making same‑day adjustments to respond to unplanned absences and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate off‑phone activities, including meetings, training and supervision, to ensure service coverage is maintained.
  • Ensure all rostering activities comply with the SCHADS Award and organisational policies and procedures, with accurate record‑keeping and audit trails.
  • Provide responsive and compassionate support to staff enquiries related to rosters and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with leaders and teams across the organisation to communicate roster changes and support effective, consistent service delivery.
  • Maintain system accuracy and data integrity, contributing to ongoing improvements in rostering tools, systems and workforce planning processes.

To be considered, you must have:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a rostering or workforce planning role.
  • Experience using rostering, workforce management or scheduling systems.
  • Strong computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Well‑developed problem‑solving skills, including the ability to manage last‑minute roster changes, unplanned absences and coverage gaps.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with employees and leaders.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong customer‑service mindset.
  • A resilient, proactive and solutions‑focused attitude.
  • Commitment to working from the office for the duration of the contract.

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) or similar.
  • Exposure to industries with complex or 24/7 rostering environments (e.g. social and community services, call centres or emergency services) is highly desirable.
