Disability Support Worker

Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a 35 year old male with challenging behaviors with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities
• Provide emotional support and companionship
• Administer medication and monitor health conditions
• Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for clients
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Availability to work on a rotating roster in a 24/7 SIL arrangement with overnight sleepover shifts

Qualifications:

• Experience working with clients with challenging behaviors
• Minimum Certification 3 in disability support required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations
• Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
