About the role

The Senior Conference & Summit Officer sits within the Education Centre and is responsible for the end-to-end operational delivery of Dietitians Australia’s summits and plays a key coordination role in the delivery of national conferences and research summits.

This role works closely with the Education Centre Manager and internal stakeholders to ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with organisational governance and stakeholder expectations.

You will take ownership of event delivery, systems, and logistics, while supporting continuous improvement across event operations and participant experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading end-to-end delivery of summits
  • Coordinating national conferences and research events
  • Managing event logistics, suppliers, venues, and delegate experience
  • Overseeing event platforms and systems (e.g. OpenWater, iMIS, Zoom, Vimeo)
  • Supporting abstract submission and review processes
  • Working closely with internal teams, sponsors, and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring delivery of sponsorship and exhibitor requirements
  • Preparing event reports and supporting evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Providing on-site support at events as required

About You

You’re a confident and organised event professional who thrives on delivering complex projects and working with a range of stakeholders.

You bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience delivering conferences, summits, or large-scale events end-to-end
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience working with event platforms and digital systems
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours when required

Desirable:

  • Experience in a not-for-profit or membership-based organisation
  • Familiarity with platforms such as iMIS, OpenWater, TopClass, Zoom or Vimeo
