YOUR IMPACT

Diabetes Victoria is seeking an Evaluation Officer to support evaluation projects across the organisation and contribute to meaningful work that helps improve outcomes for people living with and affected by diabetes.

 

Working within the Health Policy and Research department, this role will assist with the collection, analysis and reporting of output, outcome and impact data across a range of internal and external projects. The Evaluation Officer will play an important role in supporting evidence-based practice, strengthening evaluation capability, and contributing to Diabetes Victoria’s strategic goals, ISO accreditation requirements, and governance obligations.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong research, evaluation and project management skills who is passionate about evidence, access, equity and improving community outcomes. Plus, an opportunity to apply these skills and passions in a public health setting in a state peak body.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external evaluation projects through survey development, data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify insights, outcomes and impact.
  • Prepare feedback summaries, project reports and evaluation reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and piloting of practical evaluation resources for staff.
  • Support staff in building confidence and capability to evaluate their own projects.
  • Ensure evaluation activities are informed by access and equity principles.
  • Participate in project work across the Health Policy and Research department as required.
  • Contribute to quality, compliance and reporting requirements, including ISO 9001 quality certification standards.

 

ABOUT YOU

You will bring strong research and evaluation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and produce clear, accurate and meaningful reports. You will be comfortable working with data, engaging with stakeholders and contributing to projects that support evidence-based decision-making.

You will also have a genuine interest in access, equity, and community impact, and be able to apply this lens to evaluation activities and advice.

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting research and/or evaluation projects.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Sound qualitative and quantitative research or evaluation skills.
  • Experience with data analysis and data management, including use of SPSS and/or Excel.
  • Experience with survey platforms such as QuestionPro or similar tools.
  • Experience in community and stakeholder engagement, or in health, community services, research, policy, or the not-for-profit sector, is highly desirable.

 

The successful candidate will be required to complete a current Victorian Police Check.
