AERO Cadetship (Remote) – QUT Students' Expression of Interest

Overview:

The Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) is Australia’s national education evidence body. AERO is working towards excellent and equitable outcomes for all children and young people by generating and making high-quality evidence accessible and enhancing the use of evidence in Australian education.

AERO is a ministerial-owned, not-for-profit company which operates under the governance of an independent Board.

Eligibility:

AERO welcomes Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled at QUT who have completed their second year of undergraduate study (at a minimum) or commenced postgraduate studies, with a minimum 4.0 GPA.

AERO’s cadetship program would be most suited to students undertaking a course of study focused on research, policy, education or a similar discipline.

The cadetship can be undertaken alongside your course of study. It will require a minimum 17.5-hour time commitment per week (during work hours).

Remote working arrangements:

AERO is primarily a remote organisation with a national workforce. Likewise, AERO’s Cadet program is facilitated entirely online, so Cadets will have the flexibility to undertake their cadetship virtually, working-from-home. A standard workday is 9am until 5pm, with a one-hour unpaid rest break; however, to accommodate study commitments, Cadet’s may vary their standard working day (between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday) with AERO’s agreement.

Remuneration:

Offering a competitive salary between $58,000 and $70,000 per annum, pro rata, (commensurate with skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation.

Timeline & Process:

Applications will be accepted until 9am on Monday 13 October 2025.

Candidates will be shortlisted and invited to interview the week of 27 October 2025. Applicants can negotiate a commencement date between November 2025 and January 2026.

This cadetship will run until 30 June 2026.
