Casual Relief Pool – Residential Supervisors

About the role
We are seeking people to join our casual relief pool of Residential Supervisors. The position
will work across some or all of Cyrenian House Residential Services and Withdrawal Units.
As Residential Supervisor (including Sleep Shift and awake Night Shift), you will work with the residential team to provide a safe environment for the residents at Cyrenian House’s residential services. When on shift, you will be responsible for maintaining a staff presence within the service
while you undertake duties to ensure the smooth running and safety of the residents, including attending to resident concerns, facilitating community groups and activities, supervising medications, and documenting relevant information in handover notes and the client information database.
Within this role, you will work in a culturally secure, trauma-informed manner and demonstrate initiative and sound decision-making in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

Cyrenian House provides a wide range of high-quality treatment services that make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by alcohol and other drugs.
Hours of Work & Location
The hours of work will be on a casual basis and will include afternoon, night (including Sleep Shift and awake Night Shift) and weekend shifts. Applicants can choose to be available to provide cover for any or all of the following services:
1. Serenity Lodge Therapeutic Community (SLTC) and Serenity Withdrawal Unit (SWU) in Rockingham.
2. Rick Hammersley Centre Therapeutic Community (RHCTC), in Cullacabardee.
3. Midland Withdrawal and Intervention Centre (MWIC) in Midland.
4. Munda Mia Therapeutic Community (MMTC) in Kalamunda (please note Munda Mia is a
female only residential service and in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984,
division 5 section 27 this position is to be occupied by females only).
5. Nannup Therapeutic Community (NTC) – in Nannup.
To be successful in this role, you will require the following competencies and experience:
- Demonstrated capacity to work responsibly and at times independently in accordance with
Cyrenian House policies and procedures.
- An understanding of alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to assert oneself effectively and maintain clear, personal and professional
boundaries.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft suite.
- Current National Police Clearance Certificate, Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and full work rights.
Desirable
- Have a personal experience with recovery from addiction (must have a minimum of 2 years abstinence from alcohol and other drugs).
