The reason this role exists

Lead & support end-to-end strategic sourcing and category management of Product, Packaging, Indirect & Logistics categories, from market analysis through to negotiation and contract award, standardising contracts, KPIs, and SLAs.

This standalone role will lead the development & delivery of the Global Procurement Strategy, including developing and owning procurement policies and standards, establishing category strategies for priority spend areas, and ensuring adherence to contract governance.

You will also lead supplier relationship management, driving performance & risk management. A key focus will be delivering measurable commercial benefits, including cost savings, cost avoidance, improved working capital, and reduced off-contract spend.

If successful in this role, we will expect to see…

  • Delivery of & embedding the global procurement strategy into Cygnett’s business operations
  • Establishment of a structured procurement framework governing all sourcing and category management
  • Delivery of all target commercial benefits within the agreed timeframe
  • Sustained supplier & contract management improvement & reporting
  • Alignment of Procurement with Cygnett’s core values to drive operational excellence across the organisation
  • A trusted adviser providing expert procurement and sourcing guidance to all Cygnett staff and our supply base – locally and internationally 

Skills, qualifications, capabilities that we think will help in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related discipline preferable
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as MCIPS/FCIPS, CPSM, MBA, or Lean Six Sigma considered highly desirable.
  • A strong background in advanced sourcing, negotiation, contracting & supplier management.
  • Managing strategic procurement of product, raw materials, indirect and logistics spend categories across global regions 
  • Strong financial acumen, data and analytics capability, and a solid understanding of probity & corporate governance.
  • A collaborative approach and an ability to think critically about the problem that is to be addressed
