Cricket Victoria is seeking an experienced Men’s Senior Coaching Assistant to play a key role in developing bowlers across our Men’s State, Pathway and Big Bash Victoria programs.

Working alongside the State Senior Head Coach – Men and a multidisciplinary high-performance team, you’ll deliver technical coaching across pace and spin bowling, provide tactical support and match-day expertise, and help players maximise their potential through individual development, performance analysis and skill acquisition.

About the Role 

Reporting to the State Senior Head Coach, you will: 

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of pace and spin bowling coaches across Cricket Victoria’s Men’s State programs, including the senior squad, pathway and emerging players.
  • Work with the State Senior Head Coach and State Bowling Coach to develop and implement individual bowling development plans.
  • Deliver technical bowling coaching and skill acquisition sessions across senior and pathway programs, with the ability to coach both pace and spin bowling.
  • Analyse bowling performance using observation, video and performance data to provide meaningful feedback.
  • Contribute to match preparation, bowling strategy and post-match reviews.
  • Support the Men’s senior team, 2nd XI and Emerging Player Programs through coaching, talent identification and player development.
  • Identify and support the next generation of bowlers to accelerate their development and readiness for Victorian cricket.
  • Assist with batting coaching and fielding programs as required across Cricket Victoria programs.
  • Contribute to coach development initiatives, including coach education and Premier Cricket programs.
  • Collaborate with coaches, athletes and performance support staff to deliver high-performance outcomes.

About You 

You’ll be an experienced coach who is passionate about developing bowlers and creating environments where athletes can thrive. 

You’ll also bring: 

  • Experience coaching within an elite or high-performance cricket environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in bowling coaching and athlete development.
  • Strong understanding of bowling performance across red-ball and white-ball cricket, with consideration given to either a spin or pace-dominant coaching background. The ability to coach both disciplines within a high-performance environment would be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of both spin and pace bowling technical coaching and tactical development would be an advantage.
  • Experience using video, performance analysis and data to inform coaching decisions.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary high-performance environment.
  • Level 3 Cricket Australia Coaching Accreditation, or equivalent internationally recognised qualification.
  • Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain.
