🏏 Join Cricket Victoria – We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Participation to join our Community Cricket department on a 10-month full-time contract, commencing August 2026.
We are currently seeking a Head of Participation to lead the growth of junior cricket participation and new community programs, strengthening connections between schools, clubs and indoor centres. Working closely with Big Bash League, Marketing and Communications teams, this role drives participation growth and engagement across the game.
💪 The Role
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of participation strategies that drive growth across junior, social, school, indoor and female cricket programs.
- Grow participation and strengthen pathways from introductory programs into club, school, indoor and social cricket opportunities.
- Develop and implement initiatives that improve participant retention and transition throughout the cricket pathway.
- Drive innovation by identifying and delivering new participation solutions that respond to community needs and emerging trends.
- Leverage digital tools, technology and data insights to enhance participant engagement, program delivery and conversion outcomes.
- Oversee the successful delivery and growth of Woolworths Cricket Blast, Smash Series and junior cricket formats across Victoria.
- Build capability across clubs, associations and staff through training, education and ongoing support to ensure high-quality program delivery.
- Collaborate with Cricket Australia, W/BBL teams and key stakeholders to maximise participation outcomes and promote cricket across diverse audiences.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Participation team while providing strategic leadership across the broader cricket network.
- Manage participation budgets, resources and reporting to ensure investment is aligned to strategic priorities and delivers measurable impact.
🎯 About You
You’ll bring:
- Effective planning skills to manage workload demands
- Proven stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, with outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a sport, sales, project management and/or education
- Passion, commitment and drive to get kids physically active
- Proficiency in utilising PlayHQ, PowerPoint, Excel and CRMs
Highly regarded:
- Experience facilitating children’s activity programs and a thorough understanding of what it takes to ensure a flawless junior engagement program, including girls
- Exposure and understanding of grassroots cricket in Victoria
- Confident public speaker
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) Certificate (or equivalent) (or arranged on appointment)
- Current Victorian employee Working with Children Check
- Valid Driver’s Licence
